Clara Pereira graduated in Applied Biology (2003) and completed a PhD degree in Biology (2008) at University of Minho. She developed postdoctoral studies at MRC, Leicester, UK, in collaboration with Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Porto. Currently she is an assistant researcher (FCT investigator) at IBMC/I3S and her research interest centers on mitochondrial biology. The yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae has served as the paradigm for studying mitochondrial (dys)function, particularly related with stress, aging and signalling.
