Raquel Oliveira holds a master's degree in Biochemistry from the University of Aveiro (2014), which succeeded a bachelor's degree in Biochemistry from the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Porto (2011). She joined the Translational Neuro-Urology group, as an undergraduate student (2010), and during her academic internships she was enrolled in the study of the effects of the botulinum toxin type A in the peripheral and central nervous systems. Presently Raquel is a PhD student at the Doctoral Program in Neuroscience of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Porto and her current research focuses on the mechanisms underlying detrusor overactivity post-spinal cord injury.
