Inês Soares is a Post-doc fellow at INESC Coimbra and at Department of Computer Engineering from Faculty of Sciences and Technology of the University of Coimbra and an external-visiting researcher at Population Genetics Group at IPATIMUP. Inês holds three academic degrees on Mathematics from the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Porto (BSc on Mathematics, MSc on Mathematical Engineering and PhD on Applied Mathematics). Her research is mainly focused in the mathematical modelling, statistical analyses and development of algorithms for phylogenetic and evolutionary problems. Additionally, she is also interested in the development of mathematical programming models and data mining and machine learning algorithms for planning and predicting problems of radiation treatments. Inês has published more than ten peer-reviewed papers in international journals.
