Rui is currently a PhD student from the GABBA Program (20th edition - University of Porto). He is graduated in Biology (FCUP) and holds a MSc degree in Cell and Molecular Biology (FCUP, 2015). In the context of his masters thesis, Rui integrated the Microenvironments for New Therapies group (INEB), under the supervision of Tatiana Resende and Perpétua Pinto-do-Ó. During this, he was engaged on the characterization of the cardiomyocytes morphometry, nuclear and proliferation dynamics and cell cycle status, throughout mouse ontogeny. His interest in the cell cycle dynamics, led him to join in 2016 the Ageing & Aneuploidy Lab, under the supervision of Elsa Logarinho, to dissect the link between chromosome missegregation and ageing.
