Celso A. Reis
Group leader

Celso A. Reis is graduated BSc in Biology, MSc in Oncobiology, and PhD in Human Biology at the University of Porto. He is a Coordinator Researcher at Ipatimup / i3S and Professor at University of Porto. Celso A. Reis is a scientist specialized on glycobiology in cancer, with particular focus on gastrointestinal carcinogenesis and cancer progression. He has contributed to the molecular characterization of the alterations of glycosylation in gastric mucosa induced by Helicobacter pylori. The understanding of the glycosylation biosynthesis and the uncovering of the glycogenes underlying the modulation of the cancer cell and tumour biology.

Celso Reis has published 135 peer-reviewed journal articles, 6 reviews, 5 book chapters and 4 patents. His research work has been cited more than 6900 times; H-index 41 (Dec 2016).
