Visiting Researcher
I graduated in Pathological, Cytological and Thanatological Anatomy (2012) at Instituto Politécnico de Saúde do Norte. In 2014 I completed the MSc degree in Molecular Oncology at Instituto de Ciências Biomédicas de Abel Salazar, University of Porto. During my MSc studies, I was involved in the identification of two small molecule dual inhibitors of the p53-MDM2/MDMX interactions, OXAZ-1 and DIMP53-1. Additionally, I was involved in the discovery of the first reactivator of the mutant p53R280K (SLMP53-1). My PhD thesis, will be focused on molecular and pharmacological studies of BRCAs proteins, particularly on the development of yeast-based assays to screen for modulators of these proteins and in the validation of the molecular mechanism of these new compounds.
