Since August 2019, Catarina Moniz Alves Neves is managing the International Funding Programmes at the Research and Innovation Unit of i3S - Instituto de Investigação e Inovação em Saúde.
Catarina graduated in Applied Biology from University of Minho (Portugal) in 2001. She completed her PhD in Biomedical Engineering (2008) as a result of studies carried out at the University of Minho (3B´s Research Group, Portugal), University of Liverpool (UK) and at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio (TX, USA). Catarina has carried out post-doctoral studies at University of Minho (3B´s Research Group) and at School of Engineering and Applied Sciences at Harvard University (MA, USA).
From 2016 to 2019, Catarina Moniz Alves Neves worked as a Research Manager at CINTESIS, especially focused on scientific and international funding sources and was an independent external expert for ANI, COST and EUREKA/Eurostars (Cut-offs 9 to 11).
She authored or co-authored 17 international peer-reviewed publications, 7 book chapters and over 50 oral and poster presentations.
Recently, she concluded the Postgraduate Course in Project Management at EGP-Porto Business School and, in August 2018, she got certified as Project Management Professional (PMP®) by the Project Management Institute (PMI).
