Verónica Gomes

Verónica Gomes is a Post-Doctoral fellowship of Fundação para a Ciência e Tecnologia, and she belongs to the Population Genetics group at IPATIMUP. Verónicas research focuses on the study of maternal and paternal genetic markers as tools to increase the knowledge of Human migrations and associated events of Human populations. Verónicas grant centers on the study of genetic markers in order to understand Human migrations in the South American continent, in both pre- and post-Colombus times. She is also an invited Professor of Forensic Genetics Masters Program by Faculty of Sciences of the University of Porto. She has published 21 peer-reviewed papers in different journals of genetics-specific area.
