Welcome

Annual Meeting 2018

Portuguese Society of Genetics

i3S, Porto | 14-15 of June, 2018

The Portuguese Society of Genetics is currently organizing its next annual meeting that will take place 14-15 of June 2018 at the i3S (Institute for Research and Innovation in Health, University of Porto). This meeting represents an opportunity to promote research in Genetics in different model organisms including work on human genomics and disease.

The meeting is designed so that we can provide a forum for genetics research in Portugal and abroad with special emphasis in promoting the participation of PhD students, postdocs and young researchers. Therefore, we had secured the presence of two foreign guest who will present work on chromosome biology and genomics and have invited a number of young researchers working in Portugal to give talks. Care has been taken to cover not only different scientific field but also institutes and universities across the country. We have also reserved a number of short talks to be selected from the submitted abstracts so as to give an opportunity to PhD students and postdocs to present their work.

This year we have chosen not to organize thematic session and in this way to encourage all to participate during the two-day meeting. We sincerely hope that you will be able to join us since we are sure your contribution will be essential for the success of the meeting.

Looking forward to see you in Porto later this year.
