Gynaecological cancer: from science to the patient

Conference ‘Precision Medicine in Gynaecological Oncology’ | Opening of the photographic exhibition "Cicatrizes na Primeira Pessoa"

4 February 2026

As part of the ‘Bridges4Health’ project, and in response to a challenge launched by the patient association MOG – Gynaecological Oncology Movement, i3S– Institute for Research and Innovation in Health has joined forces with ASPIC - Portuguese Association for Cancer Research and the Porto Comprehensive Cancer Centre Raquel Seruca to mark the World Cancer Day and raise awareness about the disease and gynaecological cancer in particular.

To mark this occasion, a conference on the theme of ‘Precision Medicine in Gynaecological Oncology’ will be held on the 4th of February at 2.30 pm at i3S’s Mariano Gago Auditorium. This initiative aims to promote discussion and exchange of knowledge on current advances and prospects in personalised medicine in this type of female cancer, gathering leading experts from different areas and national institutions.

Following the conference, the photographic exhibition "Cicatrizes na Primeira Pessoa"  will be inaugurated at the i3S lobby. This MOG initiative uses the power of photography to give a voice to women with gynaecological cancers. The exhibition is a living testimony that contributes significantly to women's self-esteem, self-confidence and empowerment, while also raising public awareness for these diseases, still rarely discussed.
Join us at i3S on the 4th of February.
