About the Gago Conferences

The “Gago Conferences on European Science Policy” provide an international forum to enhance debate on emerging research and innovation policy issues in Europe, as well as to promote the necessary involvement of key stakeholders in policy making and knowledge diffusion in education and scientific culture. The Conferences also seek to strengthen international scientific and technological cooperation in a network in Europe, with a view to having a positive impact on a global scale.

The Gago Awards were launched in the first edition of these Conferences, which took place in 2018 at the i3S, and aim to honor the legacy of José Mariano Gago, paying tribute to inspiring leaders, women and men, who contributed to the advancement of science and European technologies, thus strengthening our collective future and shared prosperity.
