I hold a Bachelor degree in Biomedical Laboratory Sciences (2008) and a Master degree in Cellular and Molecular Biology (2014). The aim of the BSc thesis was the study of CD8+ T cells in patients with Hereditary Hemochromatosis at IBMC. To develop the MSc thesis I went in April 2013 to the Microbiology and Immunology of Infection group at IBMC to explore the role of hypoxia in the formation of necrotic granulomas induced by mycobacterial infections. After defending my master's thesis in December 2014 I kept working in different projects in the Microbiology and Immunology of Infection group. I joined the Cell Activation and Gene Expression group in April 2016 to work in a project aiming to explore the potential of receptors of the scavenger receptor cysteine-rich superfamily (SRCR-SF) in order to develop therapies against sepsis-inducing infections.
