Filipe Pereira graduated in Biology and holds a PhD from the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Porto, Portugal. His research has been conducted at IPATIMUP and the Smurfit Institute, Trinity College, Dublin, Ireland. His main research interest is the study of the DNA molecule using computational and biochemical methods. His research activity spans from the computational prediction of alternative DNA structures to the history of animal populations.
