Jorge Lima

Jorge Lima is Affiliated Professor of Biopathology at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Porto and Researcher in the Cancer Biology group at IPATIMUP, where he also serves as coordinator for international pharma networks and partnerships within the Translational Research Unit. Jorge's research focuses on the crosstalk between altered metabolism and the oncogenic properties of cancer cells. His work has provided important insights for the role played by metabolic enzymes in inherited neoplasias and the effects of mitochondrial deficiency in cancer cells. Jorge has led collaboration between IPATIMUP and international institutes, such as Roswell Park Cancer Institute (Buffalo, USA) and Weill Cornell Medical College (New York, USA). Jorge?s scientific research has resulted in over 30 publications in peer-reviewed international journals, having over 1300 citations and an h-index of 16 (source: Scopus).
