Course Building and Leading Research Teams

Leadership in research is an increasingly essential skill to successfully meet performance expectations and to foster the development of the next generation of researchers. This course will equip research leaders with the knowledge base to effectively build, manage and inspire a research group in the academic enterprise.

Requirements: Laptop

Target audience: Researchers (R2/R3/R4) responsible for leading and managing people in the development of scientific research projects and preferably with at least one supervising experience.

The selection of participants will be carried out based on a questionnaire, to be completed at the time of registration in order to assess the suitability of the course to their experience and expectations. 

Course duration: 28 hours

Course language: Portuguese

Certificate: The attendees must attend a minimum of 90% of the course duration

Speakers

Consultancy Service in Work Psyhchology (FPCEUP)

 

Filipa Ferreira

Master in Psychology from Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences of the University of Porto (FPCEUP) and Postgraduate in People Management from Porto Business School, holds an Executive MBA from the same business school.

Colaborates, as an external consultant, in the Consultancy Service in Work Psyhchology at FPCEUP, works as an independent consultant in Human Resources and is a lecturer in Porto Business School Executive Programs.

With over 12 years of experience in People Management, developed her career in retail, health and banking sectors. Led corporate and business teams, having experience in employer branding, talent acquisition, organizational culture, employee experience, leader-led development, learning and development, career management and succession planning, internal and external communication and strategic project management.

As a researcher, she developed works and publications in vocational exploration and development area.

 

Marta Santos

Teacher and researcher at the Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences and the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto.

She has developed projects of scientific consultancy, in national and international context, on training, skills and professional development.

Member of the Psychology Center of the University of Porto and of the Board of Laboreal Journal, of international and interdisciplinary nature.

President of the Pedagogical Council of FPCEUP and member of the Academic Council of Porto Business School.

 

Claudia Pereira

Master in Psychology and Consultant at the Consultancy Service in Work Psychology at FPCEUP.

Attending the Doctoral Program in Psychology at FPCEUP, thesis focuses on the issues of Management and Transmission of Knowledge among workers of different age groups.

It has been developing intervention projects in companies, focused on the transformation of contexts and people development: Leadership processes and development of work groups; Integration and training programs for new collaborators; Conditions of Employment and Work; Health and Safety at and through work.

Member of the Center of Phycology of the University of Porto and the Direction of Laboral magazine, with an international and interdisciplinary nature.
