Temporary shutdown of i3S

As we enter a new stage in the national response to COVID-19, the i3S Board of Directors has decided to impose a temporary closedown of the institute, with only essential services running from March 16th onward and until further notice.
This decision comes in the wake of an increase of cases in Portugal and falls in line with the latest instructions of national health authorities and the Government.

The institute had been partially running remotely since March 10th, with many of its members working from home for precaution. However, and in light of recent developments, i3S is committed to pulling its weight in this public health crisis, unprecedented in our lifetime.
With all these factors in mind, the institute will operate with minimum staff to ensure essential services, but other than that the building and its services, namely the Scientific Platforms, will be inaccessible.
Similarly, all events and seminars are either canceled or postponed, and we have halted the Educational Program, as well as any nondescriptive visits.

Should you have any issues or queries, you may address them to the competent member of our community as the majority of us will be working remotely and performing our usual tasks. Preferred means of contact is email, then phone.
