i3S researches receive ECCO grant to study inflammatory bowel diseases
i3S scientists were awarded two ECCO Grants by the European Crohn’s and Colitis Organisation (ECCO). Sofia Barros and Inês Alves will each receive 80,000 euros to develop innovative projects related to inflammatory bowel diseases.

David Ramos, a year 12 student from Odivelas, was one of the winners of the 10th edition of the António Amorim prize, which was awarded by Ciência Viva, following his participation in the 2025 Youth Scientific Holidays programme, which included a week of scientific research activities at the i3S.

Student wins The Company Of Biologists fellowship for Paris internship
André Carvalho was recently honoured with a fellowship from the British foundation “The Company of Biologists.” This award will allow him to complete a five-week internship at the Institut Curie in Paris.
