Science often seems to be disconnected from our everyday lives, tucked away in laboratories and universities. Actually, it is always with us in everything we do and use, from the cell phone to the microwave oven, and from television to GPS. Science is a superpower pushing humanity beyond its abilities, allowing us to fly, reach the Moon, cure diseases, and generate electricity.

Just like the society we live in, it is the power of community that moves science along; it is made by people for people. Each of us can be a hero and wield our superpower by contributing to fighting threats that loom over humanity and coming up with solutions that benefit all of us.

At i3S we look for solutions to threats such as Cancer, Neurodegenerative Diseases, Malaria or Tuberculosis. Research developed in our laboratories strives to make the unknown known and find new ways to protect and help humanity.

We all play a part in the advancement of science.

What am I supporting?

The funds raised will support the work of i3S research groups.

i3S – Institute for Research and Innovation in Health of the University of Porto (NIPC 515769053) is a private non-profit association of Public Utility dedicated to scientific research in health.

The research developed at i3S investigation is divided into three fundamental areas:
- Cancer
- Infection, Immunity and Regeneration
- Neurobiology and Neurologic Diseases

The institute hosts about 800 researchers who, together, work towards solving the major social challenges of the coming decades.

Your donation is an important contribution to the development of the scientific activity carried out by i3S.
