Where Ideas Grow
Tiago Laundos
PhD Student
Tiago Laundos was granted is MSc degree in BioEngineering, Branch of Biomedical Engineering by the Faculty of Engineering and Institute for Biomedical Sciences - University of Porto (2013). During this 5-year period, Tiago was involved in different academic projects ranging from tissue engineering, materials development, hard- and software for medical applications, and was also enrolled in research internships at INEB (University of Porto, PT) and MIRA (Twente University, NL). His MSc Thesis was supervised by Dr. Isabel F Amaral (INEB, UP) and Dr. Ana Paula Pêgo (INEB, UP), which was entitled "Establishment of a Cell Culture System to Obtain Homogeneously Sized Neurospheres of Embryonic Stem Cell-derived Neural Stem/Progenitor Cells". Currently, Tiago is a research assistant in Perpétua Pinto do Ó?s team - Stem Cell Microenvironments in Repair/Regeneration team - with a main focus on the therapeutic effect of novel cell therapies to attenuate the aftermath of myocardial infarction.
