Duarte Moura
PhD Student

Duarte Moura enrolled on the Integrated Master of Biomedical Engineering at the University of Minho in 2010, finishing in 2015 with specialization in Biomaterials. During his master, he had the opportunity to work on an international laboratory, in Friedrich-Alexander Universität (Germany), in which he worked with Professor Aldo Boccaccini to develop composite membranes of bioactive glass and polycaprolactone for wound healing applications. Duarte dissertation was developed at the 3B’s Research Group under the supervision of Prof. Natália Alves and Prof. Conceição Paiva and the work was entitled “Free-standing multilayered membranes based on graphene and natural polymers for Biomedical Applications”. In 2016, he joined to Innovative Car HMI project, which was a partnership between Bosch and University of Minho (Department of Polymers) and where he has worked with graphene to improve the conductivity of different polymers. He has three published articles and received an honourable mention award for the best master thesis by Sociedade Portuguesa de Materiais.
