Barbara Maria Nascimento de Oliveira, Veterinarian graduated from the Federal University of Bahia (UFBA), Salvador da Bahia, Brazil (2014), Master of Science with an emphasis on Biotechnology in Health and Investigative Medicine by the Research Center Gonçalo Moniz (CPqGM), Foundation Oswaldo Cruz (FIOCRUZ), Salvador da Bahia, Brazil (2016). Developed activities at the Laboratory of Pathology and Biointervention (LPBI), FIOCRUZ -BA, Brazil, in a project aimed at the development of a vaccine or immunotherapeutic against Canine Visceral Leishmaniasis (LVC). In 2017, she obtained the recognition / equivalence / Master's degree in Veterinary Medicine by the Portuguese Institution, the Instituto de Ciências Biomédicas Abel Salazar da Universidade do Porto (ICBAS-UP). Bearer of professional certificate No. 7338 issued by the Northern Regional Section of the Order of Veterinarians of Portugal. Between 2016-2019, was a Research Fellow at the Instituto de Ciências Biomédicas Abel Salazar da Universidade do Porto (ICBAS | UP), Portugal, within the scope of the project "Study of the immune function of adipose tissue in Neospora caninum infected hosts" funded by the Fundação para a Ciência e Tecnologia (FCT). Currently, is a PhD student in the Doctoral Program in Veterinary Sciences at the Instituto de Ciências Biomédicas Abel Salazar da Universidade do Porto (ICBAS | UP), funded by FCT, Portugal. Her thesis is focused in exploring the role of bovine adipose tissue in the host immune response to infection funded by FCT, Portugal. In this thematic she has already published two articles as first author. Overall, has experience in the areas of Immunology, Biotechnology, Microbiology, Molecular and Cellular Biology, Clinical Pathology and Public Health.
