PhD Student

I am currently a PhD student in the Doctoral Program in Biomedical Sciences at the School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences (ICBAS), University of Porto, Portugal. Funded by a doctoral fellowship from the FCT, I perform my research at the Neurolipid Biology Group (i3S), focusing on Zdhhc14-mediated protein palmitoylation and its role in neuropathological disorders.

I hold a Master’s degree in Genetics from the School of Agricultural and Biological Sciences at the Pontifical Catholic University of Goiás, Brazil. Additionally, I completed a postgraduate specialization in Pharmacology and earned a Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy and Biochemistry from Instituto Tocantinense Presidente Antônio Carlos (UNITPAC), Brazil.

In 2018, I was awarded a competitive scholarship through a consortium between CAPES (Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel, Ministry of Education, Brazil) and FAPEG (Research Support Foundation of the State of Goiás). During this period, I conducted research at the Replicon Research Center, affiliated with the Pontifical Catholic University of Goiás, focusing on mutations in the DRD2 gene and their association with pediatric obesity.

Beyond academia, I have extensive professional experience in pharmaceutical practice. I served as Technical Manager of Santa Mônica Pharmacy for over eight years and I was a founder and CEO of Renato Freire Clinical Analysis Laboratory.

In parallel with my scientific and professional activities, I have been actively engaged in philanthropic work for over two decades, contributing to community initiatives that support homeless individuals, people with substance use disorders, and families in situations of social vulnerability.
