creating a
healthier future
Tobias Kletter
Junior Researcher

Driven by an interest in cellular self-organisation and plasticity, Tobias holds a Master’s in Molecular Biology and a PhD in Cell Biology from Humboldt University of Berlin, Germany. During his PhD in the group of Simone Reber at IRI Life Science and the Max Planck Institute for Infection Biology in Berlin, and as visiting researcher at the EMBL in Heidelberg, he investigated mitotic morphology in stem cells before and after differentiation. His research revealed that these cells adjust mitotic spindle architecture through changes in cytoplasmic material properties.

Currently a junior researcher in the CID lab led by Helder Maiato at i3S, Tobias explores how distinct chromosome numbers and sizes create unique demands on dividing cells.
