Rute Pinto graduated in Biology from the University of Porto in 2004. She finished her PhD in Biomedical Sciences in the same institution in 2013. Her PhD work focused on the molecular and structural details of MHC molecules in sea bass, providing significant insights to the process of class I antigen presentation. Meantime, she got involved in studies of the intracellular traffic and structural determinants of AIP56 toxin. In 2014, Rute obtained independent funding from FCT to continue her research career in Immunology.
