Zsuzsa Sárkány
Junior Researcher
Zsuzsa Sárkány obtained a PhD in Structural Biochemistry from Eötvös Loránd University of Sciences, Budapest, Hungary in 2006. Her PhD theses concerned two cysteine proteases of picornains: rhinovirus 2A and poliovirus 3C, which are essential to produce mature vital enzymes and structural proteins, and thus they are prime targets of inhibitor design. During her PhD studies she worked as a research fellow in the enzymology group of Professor László Polgár at the Institute of Enzymology of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, Budapest, Hungary. 2007 - 2009 postdoc in the project entitled ?Plant TTL and Human RAGE: Any common features between the signalling pathways in plant development and human nerve regeneration?? at the Molecular Structure group of Professor Ana Margarida Damas, IBMC, Porto, Portugal. 2010 ? 2011 postdoc entitled ?RAGE ? Structural organization and interaction studies at the Molecular Structure group of Professor Ana Margarida Damas, IBMC, Porto, Portugal. Postdoc since 2012 up to date entitled ?Structural impact of CUG ambiguity: Structural and functional characterization of proteins involved in the signal transduction pathway in Candida albicans? at the Protein Crystallography group of Professor Sandra de Macedo Ribeiro, IBMC,Porto, Portugal.
