According to the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), intellectual property: “…refers to creations of the mind, such as inventions; literary and artistic works; designs; and symbols, names, and images used in commerce.
The aim of this workshop is to promote an understanding of the meaning and value of Intellectual Property in academia, how it relates to academic research, and the essential steps to protect and enhance it. It is intended to convey legal bases of Intellectual Property Rights in practical situations such as confidentiality, transfer of materials, diffusion and dissemination of results, consortium agreements, and service provision agreements, among others.
