2nd Regional meeting of ISAE - International Society for Applied Ethology

12 July 2024 | ICBAS, Porto, Portugal

We are delighted to welcome you to the 2nd Regional Meeting of ISAE South West Europe!
The meeting will take place at ICBAS - School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences, University of Porto in Portugal on Friday 12 July 2024 (immediately after the UFAW International Animal Welfare Congress (10-11/7) and at the same venue).

ISAE – International Society for Applied Ethology is the main learned society for applied animal behaviour science. ISAE members work on a wide variety of animal species and topics: e.g. the management and welfare of livestock; the interactions between humans and companion animals; the impacts of housing on the behaviour and welfare of zoo and laboratory animals. The South West Europe region of ISAE covers France, Portugal, Spain and Italy.

We plan for two plenary talks focusing on issues that are timely and important for ISAE. João Saraiva from the University of Algarve will speak about fish behaviour and welfare in aquaculture and fisheries, and we hope to confirm a second speaker on behaviour in precision livestock farming. The meeting will be open for abstract submissions for spoken and poster presentations in applied ethology, across species and types of research.
