i3S researcher awarded grant by the Amyloidosis Foundation
The Amyloidosis Foundation runs a Research Grant program, which acknowledges the outstanding work developed by young post-doctoral researchers.
Following Carolina Lemos last year, Alexandra Silva is one of the grantees for 2018.
Currently an Assistant Researcher at the Biomolecular Structure & Function group, Alexandra Silva submitted the project entitled "Conformational Nanobodies as Modulators of Ataxin-3 Aggregation", which earned her the $50.000 grant for the upcoming year.
With this grant "we aim to asses their [conformational nanobodies] efficiency as crystallization chaperones and neuroprotective molecules for future application in Machado-Joseph disease therapies."
Congratulations!
