Elena Lukoyanova was born in the former SU, where she graduated from the Chemical Technology Faculty of the Polytechnical Institute and from the Economy and Management University as an economist. Since 1980 she was working, consequently, in the Laboratory of Physical Chemistry, Laboratory of Drug Design and Laboratory of Neurochemistry of the Institute of the Physiologically Active Compounds, as a superior technician and investigator. In Portugal, she integrated various research projects in neuroscience, working at the Faculty of Medicine of Porto University. She co-authored 15 full-length research reports published in national and international scientific journals and a number of conference presentations.
