Beatriz C. Almeida is an interdisciplinary researcher who progressed from a foundational BSc in Genetics and Biotechnology and an MSc in Forensic Genetics to a specialized PhD in Experimental Biology and Biomedicine. Completed in 2025 through a collaboration between the University of Coimbra and MIT , her doctoral work focused on protein engineering and computational biochemistry, specifically deciphering the allosteric regulation and zinc coordination of transcription factors. Currently, at i3S she is leveraging her background to develop innovative therapeutic solutions through drug repurposing.
