Bachelor`s degree in Marine Biology in the Faculty of Science and Technology - University of Algarve. Master's Degree on Molecular and Cellular Biology in University of Aveiro. Did a master thesis on testing the cis-regulatory potential of diabetes associated non-coding sequences, using zebrafish as a model organism in Vertebrate Development and Regeneration group. Currently doing my PhD to understand how the disruption of cis-regulatory elements can contribute to the development of type 2 diabetes.
