Ana Filipa Castro
PhD Fellowship

Ana Filipa Castro graduated in Biology by Faculty of Sciences of University of Porto (FCUP), completing her Master's degree in Cell and Molecular Biology by the same institution. She developed her master dissertation in the Genetics of Cognitive Dysfunction laboratory, working on a project focused on understanding the pathogenic pathways associated with the ATTTC repeat insertion in DAB1 causing SCA37. In 2020, she was granted with a FCT PhD scholarship to develop her PhD project focused on the study of spinocerebellar ataxia type 37 (SCA37) pathology and therapy, under Dr Isabel Silveira supervision.
