Rita Pedro graduated in Veterinary Medicine at Abel Salazar Institute of Biomedical Sciences from University of Porto (ICBAS-UP), after completing an internship at Vila do Conde Agricultural Cooperative (CAVC), where she focused on the effects of mycotoxins on dairy cattle immune status. She completed externships at the Clinic for Cattle of the University of Veterinary Medicine Hannover and at the Clinic for Large Animals of UTAD (University of Trás-os Montes and Alto Douro). She is a PhD student of the SANFEED Programme (Sustainable Animal Nutrition and Feeding), a Doctoral Programme in Animal Science in an industrial setting. Her PhD project adresses the effects of dietary supplements on animal immune response.
