Clara obtained a Master degree in Biochemistry from the University of Porto in 2019. Her thesis’ studies focused on assessing the potential of ionic liquids as new antimicrobial compounds against Mycobacterium avium. This work was performed at the Iron and Innate Immunity group in i3S, under the supervision of Professor Salomé Gomes, Tânia Silva and Cátia Teixeira (LAQV-REQUIMTE). In January 2021, Clara started her PhD studies in the Doctoral Program in Molecular and Cell Biology at the Host Targets of Infection group at i3S, under the supervision of Tânia Silva and Salomé Gomes.
