Pedro Ferreira is a Scientific Researcher. He concluded his Master course in Informatics Engineering in December 2010 at Faculty of Sciences, University of Porto (FCUP). His Master thesis was in the Breast Cancer field and was entitled “Applying Machine Learning Algorithms to Predict Breast Cancer”. 

From 2010 to 2018, Pedro was a Research Fellow at CRACS-INESC TEC in the areas of Data Mining and Machine Learning applied to clinical data. 

From May 2018 to October 2020 he was a Research Technician at IBMC/i3S where he worked as a Bioinformatician in the context of the BioData.pt project, namely in the development of Bioinformatics Docker Images. 

From January 2021 to December 2024 Pedro performed his PhD in Biomedical Sciences (ICBAS) entitled “Predicting the behavior of COVID-19 pandemics” also at i3S - Instituto de Investigação e Inovação em Saúde da Universidade do Porto. 

Currently he works as a Bioinformatician at i3S.
