Alexandra Plácido has graduated in Biochemistry (FCUP), obtained a master`s degree in food Control (FFUP) and obtained her PhD in Sustainable Chemistry (FCUP, FCT NOVA, UA). The work developed has mainly followed two lines of investigation, namely in the development of biosensors for food control and characterization of bioactive natural peptides. Alexandra Plácido is founding partner of Bioprospectum, a start-up in the area of technological innovation, which concentrates on creating and developing biotechnological assets, from the bio prospecting of natural molecules and/or products of the biodiversity.
