Where Ideas Grow
Natália Costa
PhD Student

Natália studied Physics at São Paulo State University (UNESP), Brazil. Her research experience started at Laboratory of Anelasticity and Biomaterials (UNESP), through a Scientific Initiation for studying the influence of the molybdenum on structural, microstructural and mechanical properties of coatings grown by micro-arc oxidation (MAO) technique. As member of the Brazilian Branch of the Institute of Biomaterials, Tribocorrosion and Nanomedicine (IBTN/Br), Natália has deepened her research in the biomedical field during her current Master's course in Materials Science and Technology at UNESP. She got experience in Microscopy with focus on the Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) and Focused Ion Beam (FIB) techniques, through a present collaboration with the LABNANO group at Brazilian Center for Physics Research (CBPF). Natália is currently performing a Research Intership Abroad, in colaboration with the Functional Surfaces Laboratory (University of Minho) and the BioEngineered Surfaces group (i3S/INEB), in order to test and analyze the tribological and antimicrobial performance of new titanium oxide MAO films.
