Daniel Santos
Research fellow

Daniel Santos completed a Master's in Cellular and Molecular Biology at Universidade do Porto, Portugal, in 2023. His dissertation work was performed at i3S in the Bioengineering & Synthetic Microbiology group, on the project entitled “Improvement of the model cyanobacterium Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803 salt tolerance envisaging large-scale seawater cultivation”. Currently, Daniel is a research fellow associated with the PhotoSynH2 project (“Photosynthetic electron focusing technology for direct efficient biohydrogen production from solar energy”), researching how to engineer the model cyanobacterium Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803, in order to improve salt tolerance.
