Darmit M. Kumar is a bioinformatician contributing to the Genetic Diversity (GD) research group. His primary focus is on studying genetic predisposition to disease and the genetics of complex diseases. He is currently investigating the role of rare and non-coding variants in predisposition to Diabetic Retinopathy. As part of his scientific outreach, Kumar provides guided tours for high school students in an exhibition related to the project "Human diversity along the Magalhães Circum-Navigation Space: genetics, history and culture".
