Inês Alencastre
Associate Researcher
Inês Alencastre graduated in Biochemistry at the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Porto in 2000 and got her Ph.D in Biomedical Sciences (University of Porto) in 2010. During her Ph.D she had been mainly dedicated to the investigation of biochemical pathways underlying organelle biogenesis and receptors internalization. In 2011 she became an investigator at INEB, working in the development of new receptors-based therapeutic strategies for bone regeneration. With this line of work, she was awarded with an INEB Internal Project in Bioimaging 2011 grant and the results obtained have provided the necessary evidence to the formulation of a larger project - ?Y1 receptor based therapy for local bonerepair: Antagonist behavior and delivery in challenged bone microenvironment?- that wassuccessfully funded by FCT (Fundação para a Ciência e Tecnologia), in the December 2012.
