Diogo Coelho is graduated in Biomedical Sciences (2019) and, recently, completed a master’s degree in Oncology, with a specialization in Laboratory Oncology at the
Institute of Biomedical Sciences Abel Salazar, University of Porto (2021). Between 2020 and 2021, he was a research trainee in Dr. Raquel Seruca's lab (Epithelial Interactions in Cancer) under the supervision of Dr. Sérgia Velho and co-supervision of Dr. Maria José OIiveira at the Institute for Research and Innovation in Health (i3S). He studied the interaction between KRAS and SUSD2, aiming to evaluate the involvement of SUSD2 upregulation in mediating the tumor suppressive effects of KRAS silencing in colorectal cancer. Currently, Diogo is a PhD student under the supervision of Dr. Bruno Sarmento and Dr. Maria José Oliveira, and his current research is focused on the development of functionalized nanomedicines for rectal cancer treatment.
