Diogo has a Master degree in Medical and Molecular Oncology from the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Porto, being previously graduated in Biology from the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Porto and from the Masarykova University, Brno, Czech Republic. Currently, Diogo is a PhD student at the Institute for Research and Innovation in Health Sciences (i3s), where his main research focus on the crosstalk between the tumour microenvironment - cancer cells - iron metabolism.
