António J. Ribeiro received his degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences in 1991 from the University of Lisbon, Portugal. He then pursued his studies in Pharmacokinetics and Pharmaceutical Technology at the University Paris XI in France. In 1997 he obtained his PhD degree from University Paris V in Pharmaceutical Technology specializing in microencapsulation under the supervision and co-supervision of Professors J. C. Chaumeil and Ronald J Neufeld. His research work is multidisciplinary yet mainly focused on pharmaceutical development of drug delivery systems for proteins and peptide drugs through micro- and nanoencapsulation.
