Jorge Azevedo
Organelle Biogenesis & Function
Group leader
Jorge E. Azevedo obtained his degree (?Licenciatura?) in Biochemistry at University of Porto and his PhD in Molecular Biology at Instituto de Ciências Biomédicas Abel Salazar ? UP. He is presently a professor at ICBAS ? UP, where he teaches Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. He is the leader of a research group working on the biogenesis and function of organelles at IBMC since 2005. His main research interests are: 1) mechanisms of protein sorting to mammalian peroxisomes, and 2) enzymes involved in ubiquitin-conjugation/deconjugation.
