Óscar Fonseca
PhD Student

Óscar Fonseca graduated in Biochemistry (2020) and has a Master's in Clinical Biochemistry (2022) from the University of Aveiro. Óscar developed his Master's thesis on the mechanisms of bone loss during Mycobacterium avium infection, in the Host Targets of Infection Group at the Instituto de Investigação e Inovação em Saúde (i3S), University of Porto, under the supervision of Ana Cordeiro Gomes and Salomé Gomes. From October 2022 to December 2023, Óscar worked as a research fellow in the IronIC project, funded by FCT and led by Ana C. Moreira at i3S. In January 2024, Óscar started his PhD studies in Molecular and Cell Biology and is developing his PhD thesis with focus on iron trafficking and metabolism during infection.
