Vítor holds a bachelor’s degree in Biology from University of Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro (UTAD). In 2021, he began a master’s degree in Molecular Biomedicine at University of Aveiro, where he developed a strong interest in Neurosciences. In September 2022, he joined the Nerve Regeneration group, where he carried out his master’s dissertation on microtubule and axonal transport defects in Transthyretin Amyloid Polyneuropathy (ATTR-PN) under the supervision of Dr. Márcia Liz.

Currently, Vítor is a PhD student whose research focuses on central nervous system involvement in transthyretin amyloidosis. His work explores the cellular and molecular mechanisms underlying CNS pathology in ATTR-CNS.
