Sílvia Soares has graduated in Radiotherapy from the School of Health of Porto (ESTSP, IPP-Porto) in 2014 and completed her Master's degree in Oncology at the School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences (ICBAS, UPorto) in 2016. In 2023, she obtained  PhD in Biomedical Sciences by ICBAS, University of Porto and PhD in Nanomedicine by University of Vigo.  By using gold nanoparticles and microRNAs, she aims developed a nanosystem to promote the radiosensitivity of cancer cells. Currently, she get a grant by Liga Portuguesa Contra o Cancro – Núcleo Regional do Norte with the project untitled ‘MiRNA Conjugated with Gold Nanoparticles as Anti-Angiogenic and Radiosensitizing Therapy for Prostate Cancer Cells’ to develop in Metabesity group.
