Miguel Campos obtained his BSc in Bioengineering in 2021, from Univ. Católica do Porto. In 2023 he completed his MSc Degree in Biomedical Engineering at the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto. Following the completion of his MSc studies, Miguel was awarded a Research Fellowship at FEUP and i3S – Institute for Research and Innovation in Health, on the scope of the FCT-project PhotoRect (2022.04494.PTDC) a collaboration between FEUP, i3S, and the University of Texas at Austin (UTAustin, USA) to develop new pharmaceutical formulations based on innovative 2D-Nanomaterials/drug-conjugates for cancer phototherapy.
Currently, he is a PhD student in the Doctoral Programme of Biomedical Engineering, at Faculdade de Engenharia da Universidade do Porto, University of Porto (FEUP), under the supervision of Dr. Artur Pinto, Dr. José das Neves and Dr. Manuel Bañobre-López. His project is being carried out in the Laboratory for Process Engineering, Environment, Biotechnology and Energy (LEPABE) at FEUP, Instituto de Investigação e Inovação em Saúde, in the Nanomedicines and Translational Drug Delivery group, and at International Iberian Nanotechnology Laboratory (INL). His research focus includes development and characterization of 2DnMat/2D-Nanorobots anti-cancer drugs conjugates, to combine magnetic hyperthermal therapy, photothermal therapy and chemotherapy to selectively treat gastric cancer.
