Ângela Brito completed her degree in Biology from the Faculty of Sciences, University of Porto (FCUP) in 2008 and her Master degree in Biology from FCUP in 2009. In 2015 she obtained her PhD in Biology of Plants, from FCUP, University of Porto (Doctoral program in association with the Universities of Aveiro and Minho). As a PhD student she spent a period at Scripps Institution of Oceanography, UC, San Diego, USA. From 2017 she is a postdoctoral researcher in the Bioengineering and Synthetic Microbiology group (i3S/IBMC) and in the Institut Pasteur, France and Scripps Institution of Oceanography, San Diego, USA. Ângela’s research focuses on the discovery and characterization of novel cyanobacterial natural products with promising biotechnological applications.
