Project Manager

Mariana Simões is a research manager and scientist. She is the Project Manager of MOBILIsE, an ERA Chair project funded by the H2020, coordinated by INEB/i3S (www.mobilise.i3s.up.pt). 

Education: 

5-year Biology Degree, University of Evora (2004); PhD in Biomedicine, Faculty of Medicine, University of Lisbon (2013)


Previous management roles: 

Project Manager of the Twinning project SymbNET (H2020; GA:952537) coordinated by Instituto Gulbenkian de Ciência – IGC, Oeiras (2021-2024); Development Manager (2020-2022) and Project Leader in Germany (2015-2018) at Native Scientist; Manager at ResearchGate (2015).


Scientific background: 

Undergraduate and graduate studies in “fish social and reproductive behaviour” at Instituto Superior de Psicologia Aplicada - ISPA, Lisbon (2003-2005); Graduate and PhD student at Instituto de Medicina Molecular – IMM, Lisbon (2005-2013) studying “the role of innervation in vertebrate appendage regeneration”;  Postdoctoral research in the “anthropogenic impact on vertebrate populations using museum collections” at the Naturkundemuseum in Berlin, Germany (2013-2015); Postdoctoral research in “vertebrate cardiac repair” at the Max del Bruck Centrum in Berlin, Germany (2016-2019).
